Gardner H. Winchester II:
Pertinent Education and Experience:
I went to school at Beeman Memorial School and Gloucester High School. I focused my high-school education on electrical and mechanical electives. I attended North Shore Community Collage where I studied Electro-Mechanical Technology. I worked in Facilities Maintenance and as a Mechanical Technician for LePages Inc., Lord Film Products, Cyrk Inc. and NutraMax Inc. for over 30 years. An industrial accident in 2005 forced me off of the production floor and allowed me to re-direct my professional focus and continue my education in computers and the intelligence technology fields. I studied computer technology, networking and security at North Shore Community College. I am currently A+ certified by the Computer Technology Industry Association (ID: COMP001005650247) to service all platforms and makes of computers and peripherals.
Personal Information:
I was born and raised as a “Son of Gloucester” in 1958. I have been actively involved in the maritime community all of my life. I was a charter member of Sea Scout Ship 256 and later, Sea Explorer Ship 56 in Riverdale during which time I sailed to Canada aboard the schooner “Truant”. I have crewed and skippered aboard many vessels throughout New England and have been very fortunate to have owned two beautiful sailing vessels, a Colombia 22, “Olde Blue” and currently, a 30-foot wooden Herreshoff cutter, “Jesse Boyce”. I am a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, and am part of the sea shanty group “Three Sheets (to the Wind)” which promotes the schooner “Adventure”. Some of my other interests are: photography; amateur radio, bicycling and wildlife preservation.
